The changes were necessary to bring such things as Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements into compliance.
Before many things were line item charged. Now they are package rate charged.
Further, on the treat and release, we unfortunately had some using it like some use emergency rooms for doctor calls at someone else's expense.
No, all those services were not paid for by taxes and if you note there is no big profit margin being gained in the rate changes.
Plus please note those lower fees charged by Fayette are not going to be lower for long, if the information given is correct.
As for elected officials getting such, it is pretty standard nation wide and has been a long time, only once used in PTC that I can find, reality that I am aware of in PTC. It was a clarification and not a new policy, since of old we were lumped in under employees.
I never begrudged it for any past Council, do not begrudge it for any on the current Council and seriously never want it to be a benefit I ever have to use.
