Facts:
On July 17th Council voted to allow a referendum for a Sports Complex.
Dar Thompson volunteered to pay the cost of the referendum on the ballot.
The vote was not an endorsement of the facility. Council is neutral. It was a vote saying this issue should be determined by the voters of Peachtree City.
Council is legally silent on this issue. No Council Member can state a for or against position or take part in presentations.
Dar Thompson is responsible for presenting his case for this complex to the citizens.
Citizens for or against are free to present their positions to Dar Thompson and other voters, individually or in an organized manner.
Citizens can vote on this referendum in November.
If passed Council must review funding costs of bond issues, etc. If the costs, lease protections and such are not adequate the bond can be denied.
