With the way things are going, publically and on Council, a concerted effort has begun to link Doug and me to being Steve Brown surrogates.
Steve is a friend, but not a close friend. Meaning I think we have seen each other twice this year, once at a workshop and once we ran across each other in a restaurant. He has emailed me with constituent questions maybe 3 or 4 times during the year.
But others have been in contact far more frequently. Far more.
Steve and I do not agree on a number of important issues, such as dealing with the Tennis Center or District voting. But he pointedly does not seek to tell me how to vote or think and I pointedly do not ask him. Anyone who knows me knows the idea I cannot think and speak for myself is absurd.
There are even attempts to link Doug Sturbaum to him. That is even more absurd since Doug only knows him in passing.
So who is behind it? Seems to be coming mainly from the Dirpac crowd. One was overheard giving instructions to one on Council about the need to silence me.
I believe this tactic will increase in effort looking forward to the election next year.
