74 & Wisdom Road Traffic Light
I talked to city hall in March and was told the light at 74 & Wisdom Road would be install by June of this year.
I talked to city hall and engineering in August and was told the hold-up was they did not have permission from CSX to install the light.
Why was this not obtained when the project was being processed so construction could be done in proper time?
74 & Cart paths
According to city hall the cart paths along 74 will be replaced by PTC. I asked if it will take 3 years to get this done and the response was no, this is a safety factor so they will be done very fast.
I consider CSX bridge to be a safety factor and look at this project now. I watched the bridge be put in place in 2006 and the I ask the mayor at the second meeting in January 2007 what was the holdup on the bridge and was told GDOT/EPA. I called the GDOT/EPA in June 2007 and was told the paperwork was in order and they were waiting for PTC to purchase land.
There seems to be some problems some place. Would you comment on these?

Lights are not installed or controlled by PTC on 74, but GDOT. GDOT keeps changing their schedules and do not alway deal with issues in a timely or complete manner, an ongoing frustration for us.

There seems to be some problems some place. Would you comment on these?PTC isn't building the tunnel or pathways at that location. Those are built by GDOT, so we have to wait for them to get it done.
Yes, it was approved prior but GDOT changed some aspects of the construction which nullified the EPA paperwork and set us back to the beginning of their application process.
Then we had the issue with Cousins about getting the property. That was resolved last week.
Please remember all these issues were set into motion prior to Doug Sturbaum or my coming onto Council. We have some questions on how some things have been handled and viewed, but are 'stuck' with the status quo on many of them and the frustrations generated by GDOT at times.
Hope that helps in understanding how it got where it is now and what we are looking at ourselves.
Some issues I believe could have been avoided in whole or part while some could not.
If you have more questions please ask them.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate your rapid response.
On Oct 18, 2007, City Council let a bid for the traffic light at Wisdom Road
(10-07-17). I assumed that means that PTC is in charge of this project. This is what I was referencing my question to.

Things keep changing. In example, a project on 74 S, that PTC was going to do, was absorbed into the GDOT overall 74 widening project.
We gladly let GDOT assume the cost on such things but it costs us a longer time frame to get it completed.
We are trying to get GDOT assume the ivy sound wall covering project as well, which would save a lot of money. As well as a light at BSC, which they are now reconsidering doing.
Such issues 'ain't done until they are done.'
It can be frustrating for all of us on many different levels.
